“This is one of the best inventions ever for people with mobility issues. I have had two hip replacements and while I can stand and walk normally now, doing either for longer than 30 minutes is challenging.
I purchased this to cope with a recent situation in which I had to walk long distances alternating with standing for eight hours. It worked like a charm. It is light, sturdy and well made. I took one of your Stick Chairs to Africa with me in Aug 2018. I had meant to get a picture of it in use while there and forgot, my apologies.
It worked great in airports with the rubber foot on the spike, providing a seat to rest on while waiting in line. In Country, it was lots sturdy enough to make a good walking stick in rough country and it had the advantage of providing a place to rest comfortably off the cactus strewn ground. It also worked very well as a way to steady the camera for long exposure or long distance shots. The sharp tip dug into hard ground very well and provided a stable seat or rest as the need arose. I have a couple of other sticks of this type but none of them fold down and are thus more difficult to transport.
Thank you for a well-made product of superior design.
PS: I did receive a couple of comments/questions. People were intrigued by the chair function and how stable a seat it made. Here is one of the pictures I took using the Stick Chair as a camera rest.
PPS. Just wanted to update you. I used the stick chair for three weeks in Northern Alberta. Worked great, even on the frozen ground. The spike is lots sturdy enough to dig in without any problem. I carefully researched cane type chairs on the internet and found the your Stick Chair best appeared to be what I wanted.
Light weight, fold-able, and compact. I ordered a standard model (I am tall) and it has proved to be as advertised and I am pleased with my purchase. I recently took it with me on a trip as an addition to my regular cane (the stick chair easily fits in a suitcase) and with it my trip was successful as need a cane for walking and tire quickly when standing. Thus the Stick Chair proved to be the perfect solution. As I walked and stood listening to travel guides speak I could periodically rest using the Stick Chair. It made my trip possible. Thank You!

In order to save my back while looking at birds in treetops, I have used several different shooting-sticks over the last 30 years. The Original Stick Chair is easily the lightest, most compact, and comfortable I have owned. I have taken it on several birding trips ranging from mountainous terrain at -20 C to lowland tropical forest. It easily fits in my back pack when not in use and snaps together instantly when I pull it out. I won’t leave home without it!”

Hi Malcolm,
The Stick Chair was indispensable and an attention grabber. As soon as I got to the airport check in counter… the lady behind the counter said she needed one for her mother, so I gave her the card you enclosed with the Stick Chair!
In New York, several strangers came up to ask about the chair. Some took a photo of your contact info. It was really interesting how many people came to ask about your product.
My back was bothering me, and just as I had imagined, in all those museums with no walls, I was able to ‘sit’ with the Stick Chair. It helped so much!

I have used my Original Stick Chair for a couple of years now both locally and traveling overseas (no issues on airlines) I have beaten my Stick Chair to death using it for my hobbies. I like to fly fish and find I can sit comfortably in a river for long periods without the strain on my back. It may look funny but it works.

I received your package today. This is my second one. Now I can keep one ready to go in my car and one in my husband’s car.
I have bilateral plantar fasciitis so I need to keep off my feet as much as possible.This is the only cane/chair that is high enough so that you still feel a part of a standing group. All of the others that I found online have the chair in the middle of the cane where it is too low because you are sitting down – not leaning.

I purchased my ” Stick Chair” 6 months ago and what a life changer!
During the past three years, I have experienced excruciating lower back pain and often found it debilitating. I walked bent over and every step hurt.
At 73 years of age, I still love to travel and the Stick was the answer to my pain. The Stick helps me maintain my balance and makes it possible to walk with good posture which reduces my pain.
I use my Stick when I walk my dog, maneuver through an airport and go on excursions during trips and cruises.
The convenience of the Stick is superb as it folds up to fit on the overhead on a plane or motor coach. One of the best features is that I have a comfortable while waiting in lines in airports and to enter various like Las Vegas shows and Catherine’s Palace in St Petersburg Russia.
To sum it up — WOW what an invention. Thanks for giving me back my quality of life.

I just received your ”Original Stick Chair” thank you very much. I found the assembly to be very easy as indicated in the directions in the package.
The price is very worthy compared to other Stick Chairs that I have looked at.
I used it immediately ,It is really sturdy but lightweight, and perfect for my condition.
I look forward to it’s maximum use in the future.
I will indeed pass on to the many people that I walk with where I purchased my Original Stick Chair.
We are very happy with the stick chair it will help my husband a lot as he is going for knee replacement surgery!

I received the stick chair and am very happy with it indeed. The adjustable height allows me to use it as a walking stick and a chair, and its fold up nature is perfect for travel. I have an old British stick chair but it is too short for walking and difficult to fit in a suitcase. Your product does it all. I would highly recommend it.

I am a 80 year farmer who finds it impossible stand up for any length of time due to a stroke and spine surgery. The Stick Chair has made it possible for me to sit down and take the weight off myself, then continue walking up to a mile which I could not do before. At Christmas I sang Christmas Carols outdoors with our church and sat on my Stick Chair, everyone else had to stand.
The Stick Chair is keeping me active. Thank you.

I hope this finds you well and doing fine. So far I have used the Stick Chair in Edinburgh, Abernethy, Pitlochry, Isle of Skye, and Oban, Scotland. I used it at the Highland games in Pitlochry and lent it to a gentleman who held the weight for distance record for 42 years.
From Scotland the Stick Chair was used in the lake district of England, Cornwall, and Wales. Currently we are in Portugal.
I have found that in tight spaces in restaurants you can unfold the seat and stand the chair on itself. So that’s my adventure so far. Take care, respectfully yours.

Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised how your Original Stick Chair made my annual mini golf outing possible. I had an accident 8 weeks ago and seriously hurt my back so that I cannot stand for long periods. Thanks to the Stick Chair I was able to comfortably rest while my team mates took their turns. Also it comes in very handy while on walks with my dogs. Whenever I get tired, I can sit and relax for a while. I would recommend your product to anyone who would like to participate in activities but cannot stand for too long. However, I must admit/advise that the first couple of times I tried the Stick Chair, I found it ‘scary’ to sit and relax, but in no time (4 or 5 tries) it became very easy and natural!

I love The Stick Chair. I have used it on 7 continents. (8 continents, if you count Zelandia – – not yet recognized officially as a continent.) It has worked well as a trekking poll, as a cane, and as a chair. I have used it while waiting in line, such as at Disneyland. I have used it to help steady myself while taking photos. I have used it in Yellowstone park and many other places.

I’ve had two stick chairs for a couple of years now. I ordered the second one when I realized that if I ever lost or misplaced the first one I’d be very unhappy. I have a hard time walking thanks to lumbar spinal stenosis and the Stick Chair goes everywhere with me. It works perfectly as a cane and the ability to use it to sit periodically during walks is a real blessing. I have used it on sidewalks and in the woods and find it stable and sturdy on icy and snowy sidewalks. The ability to fold it out of the way when I reach my destination is particularly helpful.
After two years of using this cane I can’t say enough good things about it. Thanks.

I bought a Stick Chair in summer of 2017. I had both hips replaced, and still wanted to continue taking my regular daily walks. This Stick Chair was great, because when I became tired from walking, particularly soon after my surgeries, being able to sit and rest for a while was marvellous. Now I am fully recovered, and I am still using the Stick Chair on my walks due to snow, ice, and not being as young as I used to be. While on vacation last fall, my husband and I both used our Stick Chairs and found them a great help when walking around sightseeing. We’re now away again, and our Stick Chairs are definitely being packed.
I would highly recommend these Stick Chairs for anyone who likes to walk, and then have a short “sit” break to look around at the scenery.

Dear Malcolm and The Stick Chair Company,
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, but i now have a life! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with the Stick Chair. I call it my Key to Freedom — it does look like a large key, doesn’t it? I’m so busy having a life that I haven’t had a chance to sit and write and thank you for making such a great product.
I find the Stick Chair to be very sturdy even on the ice (I guess that’s to be expected when the inventor lives in Canada?!). I sit with ease at the bus stops, even in my huge, long wool coat. Oh, and I’m so glad you suggested the seat cover — it increases the comfort immeasurably, and keeps my hands from freezing on these cold winter days.
I would like to talk to you at some point about distributing them. You should have put more cards in the box! I’ve already given them out. You’re right; people want to know where I got such an ingenious device! All the best — I’m off out again!

My chair stick arrived yesterday and I had a chance to play with it and use it a little. it is an amazing device . I am 80 yrs, I do chemo for blood cancer but still travel regularly. Recently cruised the Columbia River, Cuba, Las Vegas and Arizona for winter fun. The Stick Chair will enhance and make my travels much more comfortable.
I am concerned if it will pass Airport security, but it will pack easily in my suitcase.
I will certainly when appropriate give your info to people who need the kind of assistance the Stick Chair provides so well.

After experiencing some back issues last year, and not wanting to give up traveling, I purchased an Original Stick Chair.
I just returned from a two week visit to Italy. It was a tour involving a lot of walking and standing while visiting museums, old cathedrals and some wineries. The stick chair was a back saver especially while listening to the guides. My trip would have been much less comfortable and less enjoyable without the ability to rest a few minutes on the stick chair. It was very stable and perfect for looking at ceilings like the Sistine Chapel. I had worried a bit about getting it past security. There were no problems. The size that it collapses to makes it easily packable in either a suit case or back pack.
This is a great addition to my travel armamentarium.
Incidentally, I wore out two of the rubber tips, indicating how much it was used.

Let me say the Stick Chair allowed me to participate in several weeks in France and Spain with granddaughter and daughter and additionally, keep up on a 9 day Rick Steves Tour of the Basque Country of Spain. Being Irish I rise to challenges and vowed not to be an anchor on my fellow participants. Using the Stick my old beat up body with two crumby knees and an unstable back managed to scuttle along and generally keep up with the group,due largely in part to my ability to hike along using the STICK. Usually at the rear and huffing along, having the Chair aspect really came in handy in order to grab a bit of relief and get the weight off the knees at stops. The ability to swivel and rock a bit also helped relive the back at times.
I became a real expert at being able to set up the support with one hand in mid stride and seemingly coming to rest like a bird on a branch even at traffic lights much less at “discussion stops”, museums, pubs and the like I also found being able to adjust the length a real help when on hills and going down valleys and on long flights of stairs. I quickly adjusted to the weight of the stick and only had a couple of issues;
No issues with it at airports and breaking it down to a smaller package was most helpful.
Back home I will report still no pain and I am willing to attribute this to the massive amount of exercise this almost 74 year old got in the last month……..due large in part to my ability to hike along using the STICK.
Performance: Besides the CHAIR aspect I also found being able to adjust the length a real help when on hills and going down valleys and on long flights of stairs. I quickly adjusted to the weight of the stick and only had a couple of issues;

Because my two knee replacements have not gone well I have given up fly fishing, hunting and going on trips involving much walking. The Original Stick Chair has re-opened the ability to go where walking is required. I have a plan to take two young grandsons to Washington DC in August and the Stick will be a companion on this trip.
I guess I sound like too much of a cheer leader but I am happy with your product and encourage you to continue the search for a longer life tip.

My new Stick Chair is fabulous.
I have spinal stenosis and need to rest my hips/limbs briefly every 200 meters or so when walking and as long as possible when standing. I took my chair to the rain forests of Borneo, where the footing can be very slippery and places to actually sit down and rest are rare. It was not only invaluable while walking in the wild but also while standing in endless queues to get through ’security’ and ‘immigration’ in several airports! I dread to think how my adventurous holiday would have turned out without it!
